The ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC) in Bhubaneswar has launched the ICMR School of Public Health to address the growing need for skilled public health professionals in the region. The school aims to create a cohort of trained experts who can contribute to the public health research and policy ecosystem.

About RMRC
RMRC, Bhubaneswar is one of the 26 Institutes under the aegis of Indian Council of Medical Research (Department of Health Research, MoHFW, Government of India). For the past 3 decades, the institute has continued to remain as a national and international focus for collaboration in research where clinical, population, laboratory and social sciences are integrated to address the broad issues of health. The strength of these disciplines, combined in a single institution and tightly linked by a common mission, creates a unique multidisciplinary environment for capacity building and research.
Master of Public Health at RMRC
The existing public health system in India requires well trained and competent public health professionals to find solutions of immense public health problems, arising in the country due to epidemiological transition. Qualified public health professionals are a necessity to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. To ensure that such critical mass of Public Health experts is built and maintained, it is recommended to strengthen training capacity of individuals working in the field of health care. RMRC aims at improving public health education and research by designing course in such a way that it is qualitatively comparable to the best MPH programs in the world.
ADMISSION NOTICE FOR MASTER IN PUBLIC HEALTH (MPH) FOR THE SESSION (2023-25)
ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Bhubaneswar engaged in advance research in Public Health, Biology, Nutrition, diagnosis & epidemiology of communicable diseases including COVID-19, etc. invites applications from Indian nationals for two-year regular Master in Public Health (MPH) degree programme for the academic session (2023-25).
ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION
Bachelor degree holders of any institute/ University recognized by the UGC having secured at least 50% of marks ( 45% for SC/ ST candidates) in the relevant subject, such as Medicine/ AYUSH/ Dental Science/ Allied Medical & Health Sciences/ Veterinary Sciences/ Microbiology/ Life Sciences/ Nursing/ Epidemiology/ Occupational Therapy/ Population Sciences or Studies/ Statistics/ Biostatistics/ Demography/ Social Work/ Public Health Engineering/ Nutrition/ Home Science/ Community Sciences/ Psychology/ Sociology/ Anthropology/ Economics/ Management and Law. Students appearing in the final degree examination can make a provisional application pending publication of results, subject to meeting minimum eligibility requirements at the time of interview. Admission to the course is based on the combined result of written test and/or interview that will be communicated to candidate later. The application of in-service candidates should be forwarded through proper channel with the “No Objection Certificate” before the last date.
